Mike Mandis, BAS Project Technician Level 4 for Damuth Trane’s Contracting Team, is celebrating his 25th anniversary with the company this month.
A Los Angeles native, Mike relocated to the Hampton Roads area in 1994 and initially pursued a career at Damuth Trane when he had ten years of HVAC experience under his belt. The stars didn’t align until 1998 when Mike had a friend that worked for Damuth at the time – with his encouragement and referral, Mike soon joined the Damuth team as a Service Technician. A few years later, Mike transitioned to the contracting team where he has remained since.
As a Building Automation System (BAS) Project Technician, Mike is responsible for programming, commissioning, diagnosing, and repairing BAS control systems. BAS Project Technicians utilize their knowledge of these systems to serve as a technical resource to internal operations and sales teams as well as external clients. Over the past 25 years, Mike has undergone numerous training courses and received several certifications to maintain his knowledge and skillset as a BAS Project Technician Level 4. Jack McKown, Contracting Team Leader said of Mike: “Mike has been an integral part of this organization for nearly half the time the doors have been open. Mike has been married to his wife Maria for over 31 years and they live in Southern Shores, North Carolina. Together they have three adult children and one grandchild. When not at work, Mike enjoys surfing, fishing, and doing home improvements as well as volunteering at River Oak Church. Reflecting on his time with the company, Mike expressed, “Working for Damuth has been very rewarding for me personally and professionally. I will always cherish the relationships I have built here over the years. If I need help in any area, there is always someone to call that will do what they can to assist - that is the value of having great people around you. Damuth is full of those kinds of people.
