Damuth Trane Launches HVAC Apprenticeship Program

Effective summer of 2018 - Damuth Trane now has a four-year state registered HVAC Apprenticeship Program. An apprenticeship opportunity combines on-the-job training (OJT) and classroom instruction to provide a highly effective track to learning a trade.

 

“Damuth has always been dedicated to developing our associates through various training opportunities. Offering the apprenticeship program creates another path for learning and advancement. We are excited to open our doors to another level of the workforce,” Elise Tillie, Human Resources Team Leader.

 

Apprentices will learn how to service, repair, replace, and retrofit mechanical equipment for commercial HVAC projects. New apprentices will start on smaller, light commercial HVAC products, and from there grow into more complex equipment. Apprentices will complete 8,000 hours of hands-on training performing service-related duties, and 576 in-class instructional hours. Depending on apprentices’ grades Damuth Trane will cover tuition costs. At the conclusion of the four-year program apprentices’ will be ready to sit for their HVAC Journeyman’s License. Apprentices are full-time Damuth Trane employees from day one.

 

This program is geared to newly graduating high school students, transitioning military personnel, or candidates looking for a career change.
