The 29th Annual Conference on Education will be held on July 22, 2014 in the Grand Ballroom of the Richmond Marriott. Attendees will have the opportunity to choose from over forty mini-workshops highlighting successful practices in Virginia's school divisions. Topics will range from curriculum to school law, and technology to school safety.
One of Damuth Trane’s Account Executive’s, David Peffley, will be speaking at the Education Conference about solving the safety concern in Virginia’s public schools through access control systems. Accessibility to school property must be managed so only authorized personnel and visitors are allowed to enter the buildings. Access control systems are programmed to allow access for personnel during specified times. Any attempt to enter by an unauthorized user would alert the system manager. Access control provides the ability for school lock-down in the event of emergency. Video cameras are strategically placed to monitor entry and departure activity at each door and movement within the building would minimize the risk of harm to the building’s occupants.
