ASHRAE Hampton Roads Chapter Meeting
Jimmy Giles will discuss "Alternate Design Strategy for Horizontal, Steam to Water, Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers". Horizontal, steam to water, shell and tube heat exchangers are a staple product in the HVAC industry. Typical designs rely on extraction of condensate during normal operation. The presentation offers an alternate approach to designing heat exchangers that flips common convention and the heat exchanger on their end and where the shell remains flooded. The presentation will review common applications and key considerations for this alternate design method.
