About

Safety Professionals:

After a year away due to the pandemic, we look forward to this joint event at the New Market Pavilion for all our ASSP Colonial Chapter and Greater Tidewater Chapter Members.  In addition, feel free to invite any of the below:

  • Any Environmental, Health or Safety Professional
  • Industrial Hygienists
  • First Responders & Fire Protection Specialists
  • Any interested individuals who have an interest in safety and would like to network with our chapter!

Bring a guest and meet some folks within our joint community of the Colonial Chapter of ASSP!

We will have an important presentation from Bill Burge, Assistant Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry. He will give us an update on the priorities and initiatives of the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Team. No doubt the Virginia Covid Standard will be on the Agenda.

Over dinner, Michele Twilley from the American  Industrial Hygienists Association will give an update on the legislative priorities for health and safety, what’s going on in Washington, AIHA’s role plus an OSHA update. We look forward to her informative talk.

There will be a mixer and cash bar starting at 5:00 pm and dinner will start around 5:30 pm. After dinner, when Michele is done with her presentation, we will convene downstairs to hear from Assistant Commissioner Bill Burge. There will be time for questions and we will update you all on future events from the Colonial Chapter of ASSP plus do some Chapter Recognition.

Please register by end of the day on Thursday, November 11th as our caterer needs time to order up the food for the event. The PayPal link is below and the cost is 30 dollars.  As always, we will have a few meals available for our vegetarian friends.
