energy-star-logoDamuth Trane has earned the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR® Certification once again for 2014 for the main building located at 1100 Cavalier Blvd. Chesapeake, VA 23323.  ENERGY STAR® certifications for commercial buildings is a program that helps companies save money and helps to protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.  Damuth Trane has been an ENERGY STAR® certified building since 2001, and was the first commercial building in the Hampton Roads area to achieve this certification.

Clint Damuth, President of Damuth Trane, commented on the recent award, “We are very pleased to have been awarded the EPA’S ENERGY STAR® for many years. Damuth Trane strives to be a responsible environment partner and is happy to help clients work towards lowering operational costs and energy emissions. ” We have been able to improve our energy performance by managing energy strategically and by making cost-effective improvements to our building.

The ENERGY STAR® Certification signifies that Damuth Trane uses 35% less energy and causes 35% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than comparable buildings across the country and also operates among the top 25% of similar facilities nationwide.

Damuth Trane can assist clients in identifying issues and can help clients become more energy efficient throughout all stages of the building upgrade process; from lighting to controls, equipment tune-up and replacement, to managing the entire project.

942072_589682474377284_1652777126_nThis year’s American Heart Association’s HeartChase will be held on June 21st in Chesapeake and the game begins at 10:30am!   The HeartChase supports the American Heart Association’s goal of helping to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans, building longer and healthier lives and working to reduce deaths from heart disease and stroke.

Wondering what the HeartChase is exactly?  This event is a fun and frenzied hunt of hidden rewards and healthy lives; it’s like a giant scavenger hunt!  Teams of 2-5 people will compete in a chase throughout the community in search of hidden donations.  Each team will face 10 checkpoint challenges along the way and will be tracking their progress in the HeartChase Mobile Game App. The team with the most points at the end of the clock wins.

Damuth Trane is excited to have a four person team competing in the challenge.  Our team players are Diane Casey, Project Coordinator, Trever Tomes, Sales Engineer, Vicky Aldridge, General Ledger Staff Accountant and Amber Smith, Accounts Payable Clerk, good luck!

Best of all, this is a fun and interactive way to help our community and the AHA chase away heart disease for good. Happy hunting!

homepagephoto_1Damuth Trane is a big supporter of our community events and is proud to be a sponsor of the 9th Annual CHKD RunWalk for the Kids!  This year’s event will take place on June 14, 2014 at Town Point Park in Norfolk.  The event will run from 6:15am-10:30am.  The RunWalk for the Kids is a project of The King’s Daughters to benefit the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters.

With an 8K Run, 2-mile Walk, and 1-mile Fun Run, this event is a great opportunity for all ages to get out, exercise and play together.  Finishing medals will be awarded to all participants.  This is a family fun event with plenty of activities for everyone.  This year’s theme is super hero, so be sure to wear your best cape design and come out for a great time!  Shalynn Phillips, one of Damuth Trane’s Account Coordinators, will be out running to support this great cause on June 14th!

208390_10151376529607140_1133367951_nDamuth Trane is a proud sponsor of the 20th Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament and Auction for the Virginia Beach Education Foundation!  The Virginia Beach Education is a non-profit organization that provides private sector support to fund innovative and creative learning programs for the students of Virginia Beach City Public Schools and to reward educational excellence.

The 20th Annual Golf Outing will be hosted at Heron Ridge Golf Course in Virginia Beach on Thursday, June 26th.   There are great prizes for hole-in-one, closest to the pin, longest drive and flights.  So break out your clubs, and join the VBEF for a great afternoon of golf all for a great cause!   Joe DiPaola, Damuth Trane Sales Engineer, Joerg Paul, Damuth Trane BAS Sales and David Wilkins, Damuth Trane’s General Sales Manager will all be participating in the 20th Annual Virginia Beach Education Foundation Golf Tournament.

AEECongratulations to Joe Ingham and Jay Wargo who are now serving on the board for the South Eastern Virginia Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)! Joe Ingham is Damuth Trane’s BAS Service Team Leader, and Jay Wargo is one of Damuth Trane’s Account Managers on our Service Solution Sales Team. Joe Ingham is now the Vice President and Jay Wargo is now the Treasurer for our local chapter of AEE. Mark Tschirhart, from York County Schools, ascended to the Presidency from the Vice-Presidency. Roger Shull, the Director of Energy Business Development for Damuth Trane was the previous President for this chapter of AEE.

South Eastern Virginia Association of Energy Engineers is your local resource for information and networking in the fields of energy engineering, energy management, renewables, power generation, energy services, sustainability, and other related areas.

United WayDamuth Trane has always been involved with giving back to our community, and the United Way is an organization we have been supporting for over 20 years. “We want to do all we can to maintain the health of our community and continue to improve the living conditions. We have supported the United Way and will always continue to support this great organization,” said Clint Damuth, President of Damuth Trane.

$20, 526.26 was raised by Damuth Trane associates. We had several associate events to help raise the funds for the United Way 2013 Campaign. Candy & Flower Grams were used to raise money as well as to say “Thanks” to associates throughout the company for their hard work during the year. Also, an associate favorite, our “Blue Jean Friday” proceeds were also collected for the United Way.

Damuth Trane was recognized by the United Way with the 2013 Campaign Silver Trailblazer Award. This award was presented at the annual luncheon on Thursday, May 5th. The Trailblazer Award recipients have a minimum donation of $5,000 and 5 donors and meet the level of achievement in the following 3 areas: Participation Rate of at least 60%, Per Capita Gift of $75 per person or higher, Average Gift of $150 per person or higher. Gold level recipients meet all three criteria, Silver level recipients meet two criteria and Bronze level recipients meet one.United Way Award

IMG_9694Congratulations to Brandon Rouse and David Morgan for achieving the Trane Top 10 Club Award! There are approximately 800 Trane Sales Engineers Nationwide, and only the Top 10% of these Sales Engineers receive this prestigious award. This is an honor for top sales performance reserved for sales engineers within the top ten percent of the Trane organization.

“We are very proud of both of our Sales Engineers, Brandon Rouse and David Morgan. With their outstanding performance, and their dedication to their clients, they have truly earned this honor for 2013,” states Clint, President of Damuth Trane.

Brandon joined the Damuth Trane team in January of 1998, and David joined the Damuth Trane team in May of 2006.  They both wish to convey a special thanks to their support staff, Diane Casey and RickMcMahon, Nicole Waybright-Ingham, John Jackson, as well as Damuth Trane for providing a great environment in which to work and grow.

   We are very proud to be celebrating another round of Anniversaries at Damuth Trane!  Keith Hopkins is celebrating is celebrating his 36th year anniversary at Damuth Trane, and David Washburn is celebrating his 30th year anniversary at Damuth Trane.  These are major milestones and we look forward to having them as part of our team for many more years to come.

“We are very proud to have Keith and David celebrating such great milestones with Damuth Trane!  They both bring great experience and perspective to our Service Sales team, and we are fortunate to have both gentlemen as part of the Damuth Trane team!” Clint says in regards to these recent anniversaries.  Both Keith and David began their career with Damuth Trane as Service Technicians and have worked their way to Account Executives on our Service Solutions Team.  Having held many roles within the company, both gentlemen bring much experience to their current positions.

Keith Hopkins joined the Damuth Trane team in September 1978.  Keith states, “It has been a pleasure working with the Damuth Family for all these years. They always do the right thing for the customer while providing a Safe, Healthy and Rewarding environment for their employees.”   

David Washburn joined the Damuth Team in April 1984.  “I have been very fortunate to have worked for this great franchise for 30 years. Being part of the Damuth Trane team has been a rewarding and fulfilling experience.  I started as a service technician and then moved into the role of Service Solution Sales. There have been a lot of changes in our industry over the years and I look forward to helping Trane continue to be the HVAC Industry Leader in our market”, David commentsWashburn in regards to his recent anniversary.

KeithKeith Forbes, our Technical Center of Excellence, just celebrated his 35th Anniversary with Damuth Trane!!  We are very fortunate to have Keith as part of our Damuth family, and we look forward to many more years ahead!

Keith has been in the HVAC Industry since 1968.  He joined Damuth Trane in 1979 and has never looked back.  Keith has served many roles here at Damuth Trane.  He started out as a Master Certified Trane Technician and worked his way to Field Service Supervisor.  In 2001, Keith took over the role of Technical Center of Excellence.

“We are very proud to have Keith celebrating such a wonderful milestones with Damuth Trane!  Keith brings such great experience and technical insight to our Service Team, and we are fortunate to have him as part of the Damuth Trane team!” Clint says in regards to Keith’s recent anniversary.

As Damuth Trane’s Technical Center of Excellence, Keith evaluates service-training needs, maintains technical standards and develops internal and external technical training programs, and so much more.  Congratulations, Keith on your 35th Anniversary with Damuth Trane!
