Damuth Trane, a leader in energy solutions, is pleased to announce they will be attending MEGAvention 2013, the largest commercial design, development, and construction event in the Mid-Atlantic region. Held August 15 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, the trade show is intended to build a stronger community of design and construction professionals.

Participants can visit Damuth Trane at booth #223 to preview the latest Trane systems, download the new aps by Trane, and register to win an Apple TV.

bra ha ha logo 2Damuth Trane is hosting a corn hole tournament at Big Woody’s Bar and Grill Saturday, July 27, at 1 p.m. for the Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation’s 2013 Bra-ha-ha®. The tournament will raise money in support of the free mammogram program at the ChesapeakeRegionalBreastCenter for underserved women in southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina.

Warm-ups begin at noon, and team registration is $30. The competitive division of the tournament offers prize money up to $250, while the social division offers prize money up to $75. Door prizes and tickets for a silent auction will be available for customers.

Registration for the 2013 Bra-ha-ha is open now through Monday, Aug. 26. This year’s event will kick off with the Bra-ha-ha Awards Show & Auction, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 27, at the ChesapeakeConferenceCenter. The Bra-ha-ha exhibit will be held Sept. 30 through Oct. 12 at Greenbrier Mall in Chesapeake. To register a bra, visit brahaha.org.

John Butler, Energy Solutions Engineer with Damuth Trane, and Tim Winslow, Facility Manager with City of Chesapeake, will be presenting the Efficient Water Retrofit EB/O+M  Tuesday, July 16 at the ITT Technical Institute in Norfolk.

Butler will discuss water reduction strategies, the LEED NC and EB 2009 water efficiency ratings system and the proposed LEED V4 changes.

This presentation is part of the Learning Series hosted by Hampton Roads Green Building Council (HRGBC). The seminar will begin at noon, lunch will be provided. Miriam DaSilva, Healthcare Account Representative for the Healthcare Team of Damuth Trane, recently was awarded the President’s Award for outstanding achievement at the 4th Annual Virginia Society of Healthcare Engineers (VSHE) Conference in Williamsburg, VA. 

William Rockwell, VSHE President and Health System Engineer at University of Virginia Facilities Management, presented the award to DaSilva, VSHE’s Communications Chair, during the awards ceremony on Monday, May 20th at the Williamsburg Hotel & Conference Center. 

“Receiving the award is such an honor; my contribution to the organization doesn’t feel like a responsibility because I truly enjoy doing it. I have learned so much professionally and grown so much personally because of my involvement with VSHE. The educational opportunities and exposure to such a diverse group of facility engineers really allowed me to understand the concerns and best practices of healthcare facilities industry,” commented DaSilva. 

DaSilva’s has been involved in the three day VSHE annual conference since 2007. DaSilva was elected Registration Coordinator for this year’s conference. DaSilva helped manage the conference which registered over 400 attendees statewide. 

In addition to a 60-booth tradeshow, the conference offered 19 speakers who presented 14 VSHE classes and 5 ASHE (American Society of Healthcare Engineers) certification classes such as Certified Healthcare Facility Manager Workshop and Certified Healthcare Constructor. New to the conference this year was an Infection Control During Construction seminar. 

Due to the conference sponsors, including annual sponsor Damuth Trane, VSHE was able to offer the Healthcare Members waivers to attend with a minimal fee for certification classes. 

VSHE 2014 Annual Conference and Golf Invitational will be held May 19-22 in Williamsburg, VA.

Clint Damuth, President of Damuth Trane, is pleased to announce several leadership changes in the Chesapeake-based organization.

“We are strengthening our focus and commitment to our clients and community.  In order to do this we are realigning talent within the Senior Leadership Team and adding new players to the team.  The realignment offers the opportunity for these associates to grow personally and professionally, and to better serve our clients,” stated Clint Damuth.

New team member Sara Miceli has accepted the System Solutions Leader position; she will be overseeing new equipment sales. Miceli brings 14 years of Trane commercial sales experience.  She comes to Damuth from Trane’s Albany, NY Commercial Systems organization.

Jerry McFarlane has joined Damuth Trane as Contracting Operations Leader.  He was previously with the Houston based Hunton Group and has additional experience in Sales and Operations leadership with Trane, Carrier and York. McFarlane has over 25 years in the HVAC industry.

David Wilkins, former equipment sales and contracting leader with Damuth Trane, is now General Sales Manager.  He will be working with both the System Solutions and Service Solutions teams to ensure a coordinated sales effort throughout the organization.

“Part of what David brings to our team is a variety of previous sales experiences. That, combined with the already strong experience in our existing sales team will provide our clients even more benefits,” said Clint Damuth.

Phil Damuth is taking on the new role of Vice President, Client & Community Relations.  In this role, Phil will be representing Damuth Trane at business and community events, partnering with the company sales teams to help them meet goals and spending time with clients to get perspectives on how to better serve them.
