As 2013 comes to a close, we would like to thank all of our associates and those who participated in our charitable contributions during this time of year!  Damuth Trane is
committed to maintaining a healthy workplace that fosters growth potential; both personally and professionally.  Part of the personal growth for employees involves giving back to the community – both time and money.  Throughout the year, we have what we like to call our “Blue Jeans for Charity Fridays”; an employee favorite.  How it works is employees can wear jeans to work on Friday’s for $5.  The money collected from the jean wearing employees is donated to a local charity!  During November we collected non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia, and the donations collected were amazing!   During the month of December we had two charity donations running at the same time.  We collected coats to donate to WAVY TV 10’s Coats for Families, and also collected toys to be donated to the Marine Corp’s TOYS FOR TOTS program.  So, again thank you to all who participated. See the quotes below as to what and how much we collected!

“We delivered our donations to the Food Bank this past weekend, and we are so excited to have raised $250 and to have collected 110 pounds of food for our November Food Bank Drive!  A huge thank you to our associates who donated to such a great cause!”

“Since the beginning of December, we have been collecting coats to donate to WAVY TV 10’s Coats for Families. We are excited to be donating 66 coats this year!! We are so thankful for everyone’s generosity during this Holiday Season!”

“Thanks to our Associate’s wonderful generosity, we collected 105 toys to be donated to the Marine Corp’s TOYS FOR TOTS program. Our very own ‘elves’ delivered them to our local drop off location, Chesapeake Fire Station #9 on Wednesday.”

There is much to be thankful for this New Year,

Happy New Year to all from Damuth Trane!

Part 1 is completed by the employer, and part 2 is completed by the employees of the company.

This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The 2014 Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of 100 companies.

This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Virginia and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final ranking.

Be sure to look for us at the VSBA show on Wednesday and Thursday, November 20 and 21, at the Doubletree by Hilton Williamsburg! The VSBA, Virginia School Boards Association, is a voluntary, nonpartisan organization of Virginia school boards that promotes excellence in public education through advocacy, training and services. The Virginia School Boards Association has positioned itself as the forward-looking voice of public education in supporting its mission of providing the best service possible for Virginia’s public school boards.

Damuth Trane will be showcasing an Access Control booth, displaying what an access control system can do for your facility. Accessibility to any facility property must be managed so only authorized personnel and visitors are allowed to enter the building. An access control system would allow entry into the building using technology devices at entry doors. Video cameras are strategically placed to monitor entry and departure activity at each door and movement within the building which would minimize the risk of harm to the building’s occupants. Any attempt to enter by an unauthorized user would alert the system manager, resulting in fewer false alarms and a more secure building.

If you have any questions, or if you are looking into an access control system for your facility, visit us at the VSBA show, or give us a call today!
